SAVE THE TURTLES
Read about General Turtle Facts
The Terrapin Companies is trying to help... So can you!
Webster's defines TERRAPIN as any of the various North American aquatic turtles. These quiet fellows have lived on earth for 100 million years and are now tragically threatened to near extinction in just one short century.
The Desert Tortoise, native to California, is endangered in the wild (although there is a large population in captivity). There are 270 endangered turtle species in the world; 56 endangered turtle species in the U.S. Worldwide half of all species are in trouble. Six out of seven species worldwide are in danger of extinction.
We believe it is our obligation to do what we can to help right the wrongs of the past, and to leave the world a better place for all future generations. Therefore, we will donate a minimum of 2% of our net profits each year to conservation causes with special emphasis placed on turtle conservation. Our giving will not be less than $1000 in any given year, regardless of profits.
Below is a list of organizations we support, along with how we divide our giving, and links to conservation web sites.
